Nancy studied with Peter Ostuni,
artist, sculptor, when she was in high school in Warwick, New York. She
studied at Parsons School of Design, NYC; The Academy of Art in San
Francisco, CA; Pima College, Tucson, Az, College of Marin, Kentfield,
CA; College of Dupage, Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and Morton Arboretum,
Lisle, Illinois. She has lived in France , Italy, on both coasts of the
US and Southwest, and now, the Midwest. Her work reflects the landscapes
of places in her heart. When living in the Internationally known Tubac,
Arizona, Nancy created hand painted plaques at her 100 year old adobe
studio Nancy’s Objects of Art (the pink adobe across from the church)
Nancy designed and built exhibits
for SciTech , Aurora, Illinois, as a Project Coordinator. She designed
and implemented an out door classroom for Highland's Elementary School,
Naperville, Illinois. She was Chairman of Art Appreciation for several
years at the same school and taught many children there. She conducted
art classes in her home studio in a program she created called Young at
Art. Nancy loves working with and developing the talents of children.
She received recognition from Eastern Airlines for her uniform design
and has created logos and designed packaging and has a love and
appreciation of all art forms. Nancy has lived the past twenty five
years in the Midwest and has grown to love the landscape there, and has
this to say:
“There is so much beauty around us here , that it is easy to take it for
granted. At times, I like to paint in a fantasy of color to waken the
senses to the beauty of the prairie. The prairie is so simple, so
symmetrical and yet so beautiful that I want to capture it over and over
again, each time reflecting it’s ever changing beauty.”
