I don't know if I am a right brain or a left brain. I have never thought to analize that, hmmm, something to think about. I do know that I am a visual person. If I do not have a camera with me, I try to memorize what I am seeing so that I can paint it later. Sometimes, I do a very small sketch, including color names to be added. I have always told my students that it is ok to copy in the process of learning. It's the only way. So, we all copy something and the creativity comes as you interpret what you see. I'm sure you've been asked this question "how did you come with the idea for this painting?" I've been asked that many times.
